CarlWeiseCarl E. Weise began his career in Toronto, Ontario following graduation with Honors from the University of Waterloo.  He began his records career in Toronto (bank job during the day and University of Toronto grad school at night).  In 1979, Rockwell International, based in Pittsburgh Pa  asked him to supervise their commercial records management programs in the USA and Canada.  During this period, Rockwell pioneered information management policies governing electronic records and digital imaging, new technologies at the time.  He was encouraged to participate in ARMA International serving as President of the Pittsburgh Chapter and later as Program Chair for the 1987 ARMA Conference in Anaheim CA.   He earned the Certified Records Manager designation and later served the Institute of Certified Records Managers as  VP for Exam Administration. These volunteer activities are an indication of Carl's commitment to the records and information management profession.   Two of his articles were published in the Records Management Journal:  Records Management: The Management Science Too Long Ignored and Selling Records Management - Do You Know Your Product?.

Carl went on to work in a series of records management positions in ISO 9000 registration,  Children Services health records (Summit County Ohio), records management software implementations (Zasio Enterprises), electronic medical records implementations (Cerner);  bank mortgage records (PNC); E-Discovery Legal Records (Reed, Smith) and Electronic Content Management (Sogeti USA).  All of this experience enabled Carl to be highly successful as a ECM/ERM Instructor for AIIM, traveling throughout the world for their certification programs.  He was an active trainer at the time of his death.
Carl  and his family made his home in Upper St. Clair, PA.  He was active in his church, an avid sports fan and played amateur ice hockey and tennis.  He is survived by his wife, Myrna and two daughters and their families.
