A Message from the Chairman of the Board of Trustees   Presenting the Foundation’s New and Exciting Vision - I have always believed that great challenges can bear great opportunities. With that thought in mind, I am excited to join with my fellow members of the Board of Trustees in unveiling the details of a bold new vision for the Foundation. Many of you may not be aware of the important role the Foundation plays in making a difference for the future of our profession and for our global society. Now, here is your opportunity to find out! This past June, the Foundation adopted an exciting and broad new vision focused on making a positive impact on our global community through supporting research, education and scholarship in records and information management. What does this mean? Simply, the Foundation is committed to effecting positive change in how people access, use and understand records and information.  All of us on the Board of Trustees believe that the ability to freely access, use and understand information provides individuals with the power to participate and succeed in a global society. This ability is fundamental towards development of a global community that can learn, interact and live harmoniously together. Achieving this lofty vision will not be easy, but then most important goals never are. It will take the support of many, including all of you who may be reading this message now. It will require support from a broad cross-section of our information management community, ARMA members, RIM users, RIM vendors and the like. Achieving such a grand vision, one that can reach as many people as possible and help change our world for the better; will require support in terms of a significant amount of funding. Therefore, your Foundation Board of Trustees has set a goal of securing $2M in funding through individual donations, corporate sponsorships and non-profit organizational grants over the next two years. The Trustees and I strongly believe this goal is achievable and have enthusiastically developed a clearly defined fundraising strategy and plan which to ensure success. However, we also know that a key factor towards achieving success will be your awareness, understanding and support of the Foundation's efforts.
